[Children's Book] The Painting That Doesn't Want to End

Nicolas and Katia could not imagine the adventures they were going to have when they asked their grandmother to paint a painting to cover the blank wall in their bedroom. There were so many strange things that happened in that painting - from games with monkeys, to travels to the bottom of the sea, to encounters with a dancing octopus - that the kids did not know what to think or do.

This is a story where the children's imagination flows into reality, having as a theme the different ways of living the life one chooses. Accepting risks and fully enjoying new experiences, or living happily with what is familiar, without frights or surprises.

Splash! Splatter!  Suddenly monkeys tumbled in, trying to catch fish with their hands.  They bounced and leaped, bump-bumping about that underwater place.

Through the gloom they began to make out something strange, horrible, unspeakable, lurching and slinking towards them, giving them goose bumps and making their hair stand straight up. They stood transfixed with terror and amazement.
